Club Directory Updates
======================
The Club Directory on the Collectors.Org website was updated earlier this week. Keeping the information on clubs current is an unending task, particularly this time of year when many clubs are having annual conventions, which often means a change in officers. The Association of Collecting Clubs coordinates the Club Directory with Dave Maloney of Maloney's Antiques & Collectibles Resource Directory and the Collecting Channel. we feel this partnering effort has resulted in the best club directory on the Internet. If you are currently not using this as a resource, we urge you to consider it. http://collectors.org/CD/Club_Index.asp

The Directory lists the clubs in alphabetical order in the left column. By "clicking" on the Maloney's Classification title in the right hand column, all clubs automatically change to topical order. Most club listings give a description, contact name and postal address, e-mail, website, and name of their publication.

Collecting Club Event Guide - CVB's
===================================
ACC has begun work on a Collecting Club Event Guide to help the leadership of collecting clubs, associations & societies better understand the role that Convention & Visitors Bureaus (CVB's) can play in making their conventions, conferences, shows or other events successful. It is projected that the guide will be ready in early September.

Convention & Visitors Bureaus can be a great asset in providing the full range of information about the city or area they represent. CVB's have also taken a strong interest in having collecting clubs look at their city as a possible location for an event, a number of them giving one of their staff representatives a new responsibility of recruiting clubs.

CVB's are becoming represented in the Collectors Trade Show on Collectors.Org, in the Convention Sites/Host Cities aisle. The following CVB's have booths: Grand Rapids, Tucson, Tampa Bay, San Mateo, Rochester (NY), Casper, Des Moines and Rogers/Lowell (AR). Visit: http://tradeshow.collectors.org For information on a booth: info@collectors.org or 301.926.8663

National Association of Collectors - 10th Anniversary
=====================================================
The National Association of Collectors, which identifies and addresses the needs and concerns that are common to all collectors, turns 10 years old in 2006.

NAC is a "sister" organization to ACC (one focusing on collecting clubs and the other on individual collectors). Since its inception, one of the benefits of clubs being a member of ACC is that their members are also automatically considered members of NAC with all the benefits of NAC membership at no additional charge.

The National Association of Collectors was co-founded in 1996 by Harry Rinker, president of Rinker Enterprises, Emmaus, Pennsylvania and Jim Tucker, founder & director of Antique & Collectible Associations, Davidson, North Carolina. NAC was acquired by Larry Krug & Rick Moses of Americana Resources, Gaithersburg, Maryland in 2002, having hosted NAC's presence on the Internet through their Collectors.org website for several years.

Some of the benefits of NAC membership include all of the directories and educational information on the NAC Collectors.org website, discounts on products & services through the Collectors Trade Show, the Collectors Insurance Program, help & advise from collecting clubs through ACC, and program areas relating to appraisal information, security & insurance, collection management, information on reproductions and more.

A new NAC electronic newsletter is planned for late 2006 as one of the highlights of commemorating our 10th anniversary. Details to follow in the fall.

Collectors Trade Show - Serving Clubs and Collectors
====================================================
The "Collectors Trade Show" - http://tradeshow.collectors.org - continues to grow. The virtual trade show has aisle after aisle of booths offering products and services of interest to the leadership of many of the 2400 clubs served by ACC, and the 6 million serious collectors & investors represented by ACC member clubs.

During the past two months over 80 new booths have either been added, or are in the production process. We are actively reaching out to other partners every day. This is exciting because many of these new partners have never marketed to collecting clubs before.

If you are a vendor with collector needs...from shipping supplies to display cases...alarm systems to price guides...collector software to training courses, appraisal or restoration services, you should have a booth in the Trade Show. contact: info@collectors.org

If you have services of interest to club leadership such as club customized logo merchandise, membership incentives and club management tools, event planning, convention sites or meeting facilities, printing options and internet services, you should have a booth in the Trade Show. info@collectors.org

If you are an antiques mall or gallery manager, a show promoter, flea market owner, auctioneer, appraiser or have an Internet business of interest to collectors, you should have a booth in the Trade Show. We can promise you will be reaching collectors you are not reaching in any other way. Ninety percent of collecting club members do not subscribe to any type of collecting publication whatsoever.

The Collector Trade Show is always open...7 days a week...24 hours a day. A display booth can feature your full line of products or services with direct links to your own website. A Collectors Trade Show booth costs $100/year. We will be happy to develop the booth for you based on your own website or materials provided - no additional cost. We can't make it any easier. Visit: http://tradeshow.collectors.org If you can offer our members a member-discount, we can work even a better deal.

We look forward to hearing from you and having you as a Collectors Trade Show partner. Contact us at info@collectors.org or call 301.926.8663.

Collectors Ad Network is Launched

=================================
A few days ago ACC announced the Collectors Ad Network to the leadership of our member clubs, encouraging them to place links on their club websites directly to the Collectors Trade Show. The Collectors Ad Network will serve several purposes. First, it greatly enhances the visibility of the Trade Show and increases traffic. Secondly, it making it easier for their club members to take advantage of the vendors offering member discounts in the Collectors Trade Show.

Additionally, clubs signing up for the Collectors Ad Network are encouraged to solicit potential Trade Show advertisers in their specific collecting areas for which their club will receive a finders fee of 20% of the advertising rate, adding an additional revenue source for their clubs.

In addition to the supply and service aisles currently in place in the Collectors Trade Show, several topical aisles will be added, directly supporting specific collecting areas. These new aisles include:

1 - Collecting: Advertising, Breweriana, Tobacciana
2 - Collecting: Coins, Currency, Tokens
3 - Collecting: Paper, Postcards, Books, Maps
4 - Collecting: Glassware & Crystal
5 - Collecting: Ceramics, Porcelain, Pottery
6 - Collecting: Toys/Games, Dolls, Trains/Models
7 - Collecting: Political & Patriotic
8 - Collecting: Stamps & 1st Day Covers
9 - Collecting: Autographs & Celebrities 10 - Collecting: Hunting & Fishing
11 - Collecting: Sports & Olympics
12 - Collecting: Science Fiction
13 - Collecting: Kitchenware, Household & Dining
14 - Collecting: Art, Sculpture, Jewelry
15 - Collecting: Music & Entertainment

The Collectors Ad Network has great potential for increasing activity for all of the booths of our ACC partners participating in the Collectors Trade Show.

ACC News Service - Available to Partners
========================================
The ACC News Service on the Collectors.Org website is the only major news service developed exclusively for promoting the news and events of collecting clubs. Club news is list by category, such as club-sponsored shows, club conventions, new books, and special projects. Also, news is listed topically in some 80 categories - everything from bottles to marbles, from food collectibles to trains & models.

There is also a section on the News Service for use by ACC Partners - collector books, auctions, shows, tours, radio & TV programs, and more. We welcome any of our ACC partners to send us releases for consideration. Remember, it must have news value. Releases can be sent to: NewsService@collectors.org

We are continually promoting this free News Service to the media, special internet networks and to all of our collecting clubs. During the past 12 months we have had over 1,000 articles added to the News Service. Since all articles are permanently archived and easily searchable, this is becoming a valuable resource.

That's all for now. Let us know any time that we can be of assistance. If you are interested in reviewing the versions of ACC Update that are sent to the club leadership, they are posted on the ACC New Service at http://news.collectors.org
